INFO
Mancats appear in groups together or with Medusas and are found in the latter half of the game.
STRATEGY
Jeez, run the hell away from these things! A whole pack of them will like to open up with FIR2 and fry your ass. They're also resistant to all but one element. So, Stop and Zap! should work on them if you feel like wasting your level 8 spells.
MYTH/ORIGIN/OTHER GAMES
Mancat is called Rakshasa in the Japanese version and FF Origins. I'm sure the idea comes from Dungeons & Dragons, but they may have originally come from Indian or middle-eastern myth. Rakshasas are evil spirits that take the form of humanoid animals, usually tigers, and dress in the finest human clothing. They are powerful mages, and love to eat human flesh. They don't return in any later FFs.
