INFO
Lich is one of the four Fiends (Chaoses) and the boss of the Earth Cave. Then you'll fight a stronger Lich on the way through the final dungeon.
STRATEGY
The first time you fight Lich he's pretty easy. Just fight hard, use FAST and your strongest Fire and Harm spells. The second time you fight him he's got some nasty spells. Use the same strategy but you'll have to be fast, strong, or lucky to come out of it with everyone alive.
MYTH/ORIGIN/OTHER GAMES
Lich has the same name in every version. The word lich comes from Old English and means "corpse". The modern German word leiche means the same thing. In Dungeons & Dragons a lich is a powerful wizard who transformed himself into an undead form to gain power. The FF1 Lich's ability to stun you and use of Ice spells comes from the D&D lich. Liches return as regular enemies in FF6 & FF10-2 and as a Chaos in FF9.
