Ghouls appear in groups together, with Zombies and Geists, and can only be found in the beginning of the game.
STRATEGY
Ghouls aren't very strong, but they can stun you and slowly beat you down. If you don't just run away, try Fire and Harm.
MYTH/ORIGIN/OTHER GAMES
Ghouls are the same in every version. Ghouls are demons or evil creatures that rob graves and feed on corpses. Like many monsters in this game, these probably came from Dungeons & Dragons, where they also had a paralyzation abilty. Ghouls can also be found in FF2, FF4, FF11, and FF Tactics.
