MYTH/ORIGIN/OTHER GAMES
Gargoyle is the same in every version. Gargoyles are statues or water spouts made in the shape of strange creatures and placed on top of buildings. They often resemble hideous reptilian dog-like things with wings, or small demons. Works of literature, movies, and games like Dungeons & Dragons have made these statues into living creatures. The word gargoyle comes from the late Latin "gargula", and old French "gargouille" meaning throat, as they were originally water spouts. There was a Disney cartoon series called Gargoyles, where they were statues during the day, and came alive at night. Gargoyles return in FF3, FF4, FF5, FF7, FF9, and Mystic Quest.
