This floor looks a lot more complicated than it actually is. The only deadends result in a room full of treasure. Just "go" and you'll reach the exit.

Mmmm, money. In front of this chest you'll fight a green ogre, a wizard ogre, and 2 hyenas.


The hell? Also, you'll find the previously mentioned group of monsters in front of this one.


Also good.


Mmmm, more money. There's a sphinx in front of this one.


Not a bad sum. There's 2 sphinxes to the right of this'n.


The bats on this floor aren't nearly so numerous or annoying.


A cabin? A little cheap. At least it's something useful. That wizard ogre party is waiting to the right of this chest.


More money, nice. The wizard ogre party is in front of this one.


This is good, tho you could've got one from Crescent Lake already. The WizO party's in front of this one too.

The bats are even less annoying here.


Inside the fiend's room you see his ball, the altar of earth, and a teleporter.


Fiend's ball cracks open? That must hurt.


Being undead (Nintendo Power's strategy guide doesn't tell you that) makes Lich pretty easy. After using FAST on your fighting guys, cast your best FIRE & HARM spells. Simple, no?


Step onto the altar to light the Earth Orb. Unfortunately, if you are playing on some emulators (NESticle specifically) you won't see the cool lighting effect. Step onto the teleporter to get out.


You have the first orb lit, congrats. Head back to Melmond...
