Straight down from Coneria is this groove in the shore. Probably got that way from lots of ships just crashing into it.

Asps and arachnids are very common here. Stock up on PURE potions. Keep 10 or more on hand.

Some may say that you should head back to Coneria's cheap inn when you're trying to build levels here. The idea is that it's worth the extra time to save the money. But really, the time you waste could be better spent getting more money here. So take advantage of the convenience of ElfLand's inn.

The book recommends fighting ogres here to gain levels. You'd be better off, however, if you went to finger point once you know FIR2 or HRM2. You could go at a lower level if you have at least 3 fighting characters.

On the recommended path you'll be going into the Castle of Elf visit 1.
