Worthless Chapter 4 Happy Little Elves The Light Warriors sailed south to a place called Elfland where the pink Ogres roamed freely in the fluorescent grass and all the snakes were poisonous. The kingdom was in turmoil, however, after a Dark Elf put the Prince under a curse causing him to sleep for eternity. However, Matoya's Herb could wake him. The mages saw some useful spells such as Cure2, Harm2, Pure, Fire2, Lit2, and Fast. They bought them, but when Red and Burn saw the shiny new Silver Swords that were available, they tromped out onto the bright green grass to make a little money. They reached Level 6 before they had enough money to buy both the swords. Just to be on the safe side, the Light Warriors trained to Level 8 before they tried to go any farther. One of the elves in town near the graveyard mentioned a castle to the northwest, full of bats and other creepy things. While they were in the graveyard area, they knelt and paid their respects to Sir Erdrick, a long-dead knight. They decided that since the villagers were so scared of the castle they should probably go there first. They trekked north through mountains, forests, and swamps until they reached it. Inside was an oddly-dressed king, who said that his Crown was lost in the Marsh Cave and he ordered them, not requested, ordered them to retrieve it. So they headed south to the Marsh Cave, rested in a tent, and tumbled down the hole into the ominous green-floored cavern. Inside the cavern were very dangerous monsters such as Asps, Slimes, and Arachnids. The Slimes could be defeated only by a blast of Fire or Fire2 from either Burn or Maim. Silk found that she was commonly purging poisons from her comrades' bodies with the Pure spell. After a long walk and many useless treasures, the four warriors arrived at a room filled with yellow squid-faced Wizards. Red charged, boosted by a Fast spell from Burn, but soon found that killing the Wizards would be no easy feat. There were five of them, and they all could do serious damage with their staves. Maim found that Lit2 could take them out with a few shots, so Burn and Maim killed them all at the same time, except for the one Red managed to cleave with his Silver Sword. Once they killed the Wizards, they opened a treasure chest and found a Crown inside. They saw that this was the unorthodox king's crown and managed to tromp back to the entrance, climb out of the cave, and head north to the castle. They camped in a House that they had found in front of the castle because Burn had a premonition. Burn was glad he had that premonition, because it was right. The king revealed himself as Astos the Dark Elf and longtime enemy of Elfland. He immediately killed Burn with a Rub spell. Burn gasped, staggered a little bit, and fell to the ground, not feeling the heavy impact on the stone floor. Red had become rather fond of Burn and, with the help of one of Maim's Fast spells, significantly weakened the elf. A blow or two from Silk's hammer and several slices from Red finished the deformed elf. The warriors that remained retrieved Matoya's Crystal, which had been stolen by the elf. They put two and two together and discovered that now they could awaken the elven prince. So they revived Burn, stayed at the Inn, and made the trade with Matoya for the Herb. They then returned to Elfland and awoke the Prince. The Prince gave them a Mystic Key, which could open all doors. The four thanked the Prince and set out treasure hunting for the things they couldn't reach before.
